Conifer Joinery grows family business with 1Stop™ service from Quest Hardware
Phil Inwood, Director at Conifer Joinery has been working in the woodworking industry from the age of 16. Since this early age he has spent his time learning the craft and perfecting the skills needed to create stunning timber and sash windows, doors, staircases and increasingly bespoke furniture. Conifer Joinery has been established for over 9 years and has developed a reputation for the quality of its work across Oxfordshire and beyond.
In the last two years Phil and his wife have gradually taken over ownership of Conifer Joinery, based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, from the previous owner, who has now retired. Phil worked with the previous owner who shared his valuable woodworking business knowledge and skills with Phil. Phil and his family have worked to grow the company, increasing the turnover by around 10% each year in the last two years and has recently expanded the workforce.
Phil comes from three generations of Joiner’s, his father is employed part time at Conifer Joinery and his grandfather was also a joiner. Phil’s nephew is currently in his first year as an apprentice at Conifer Joinery giving Phil the opportunity to pass on his knowledge and skills to the next generation in the family, preserving the craft that was originally shared with him.
Phil works with local builders on projects that involve refurbishment and renovations including church refurbishments. He works with private customers on a wide range of timber projects, examples include bespoke timber conservatries, sash windows and wardrobe units.
Conifer Joinery use a 1Stop™ service from Quest Hardware, this involves a lockable cupboard that stores a range of woodworking consumables and door hardware that Conifer Joinery have on hand for their everyday projects.
Phil Inwood, commented “The quality of our joinery means that we receive all our work through word of mouth and trade contacts alone. Our workload demands vary so having a 1Stop™ cupboard with supplies on hand when we need them helps us manage our consumable and ironmongery needs in a way that means we can complete work promptly and grow our business ”
The consumables and hardware are not invoiced until a stock take is completed by Quest Hardware and the items have been used.
Phil added “Quest Hardware are a fantastic supplier of woodworking consumables and ironmongery, for power tools and more irregular items I call the Quest Hardware customer support team or our local rep. They are very knowledgeable and helpful, plus the items we order are always delivered quickly”
Daniel Wells, Director at Quest Hardware commented “The 1Stop™ stock management solution is a popular service with our regular clients, it saves them time and allows them respond to work requirements quickly and effectively”.
